Vivo IPL 2017 Rules

Here is an extract from the IPL Rules regarding the points allocation. Ruler 21. x has been quoted, you can recover all the other regulations of the IPL here.

Tournament

The league Challenger table for the tournament shall be compiled by IPL, the positions in which shall be ascertained by the number of levels gained with points being made as follows:

A Team will get 2 degrees for each peer

1 point per team taking part in any match with no effect and any match which is tied (where it was not possible to complete a Super Over at the end of the play or where the Super Over itself is carried away);

1 point per team for any match involving such team which does not commence for any causal factor (other than where the grounds for such non-commencement is a rupture of the Operational Rules by one Franchisee which results in such Franchisee forfeiting such match); and

0 points for any match lost or broken up.

The squad with the most eminent figure of points shall be at the height of the board and the team with the lowest shall be at the bottom end.

Where teams have an equal number of points their relative positions shall be decided by the following:

The team with the most wins in matches in the League during the season will be sited in the higher position.

If there are teams with tie with same wins during the season and also with same points, then in such scenario, the team with the more net run rate than other will be promoted in the higher spot

If going on the net run rate calculation above, there are teams which are still equal, then the squad with the higher number of wickets taken per balls bowled in the matches played that season in which outcomes were achieved will be invested in the higher spot

If still equal at the remainder of the regular season and then the team position will be decided by drawing lots.

Above matches does not apply for Playoffs
